Hble. Sr. Jordi Baiget i Cantons ( to be confirmed)
Born in Balaguer in 1963, Jordi Baiget i Cantons has a degree in Economics from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), has completed post-graduate studies in Economic Analysis and has been an assistant professor in the UAB’s Faculty of Economics.
In 1990, he joined the CDC’s Research Department as an advisor to the Catalan Parliamentary Group in the Congress of Deputies on economic, sectorial and social aspects. From January 2001 to November 2003, he was the secretary of CiU’s Catalan Parliamentary Group in the Cortes Generales.
From November 2003 to 2011, Jordi Baiget was the technical coordinator of the CiU parliamentary groups in Catalonia and the Cortes Generales. In 2011, he entered the Government of Catalonia as the general manager of Interdepartmental Coordination and in 2012 he was appointed secretary of the Government.
He joined the FNEC in 1985 and was a member of the national coordination department and secretary of finance from 1986 to 1987. He has also published various studies related to the Catalan economy and the labour market.
